Flying Humanoid Robots versus Drones as Delivery Agents?

This is a science fiction ready to become true in a decades time.

Just a drone or a humanoid robot for delivering packages? Are we ready for it? Could it lead to trial failures? Can we prove it won’t harm people? If not, then we need time. We need to teach robots to stop if humans can be hurt. Let’s test it then, but with care, caution, and concern for human life and resources.

There are several reasons to use humanoid robots for delivery.

Some reasons are that they can interpret the visuals, acoustics, and displacement as a part of their making. Other features include interaction with the receiver (another robot or human), which comes easily to a humanoid robot by its very nature. We need to inherit those features here.

But humanoid robots need to maintain air traffic in low-lying regions.

All humanoid robots must register if they intend to fly or walk.

A humanoid robot or drone that uses air must know not to interfere with airplane flight tracks in registered airspaces.

There are places where drones can’t reach, but humanoid robots can, given they can walk as well.

Examples of such locations include places where security does not allow flying objects. In that case, humanoid robots can navigate roads, ring a bell, walk to specific locations, and deliver parcels.

Humaoid robots know how to walk, how to maintain distances. If these are yet not mastered by humanoid robots, it must be done now.

Other functions, such as express delivery, can also be performed with humanoid robots, as some places require a knock on the door, which may not be possible with drones.

If drones can do all this — listening, flying, capturing visuals, tracking addresses in congested areas, understanding sounds, and handling returns — whether the packet is returned or a return gift is sent (or a return packet is sent), it’s well and good.

Simultaneously, the importance of drones cannot be ignored. They are essential in situations where nothing else suffices, such as responding quickly to climate disasters. Additional examples include rescuing people from forest fires, floods, urgent parcel deliveries, urban fire responses, military operations, and pandemic or epidemic relief efforts like delivering medicine. The significance of drones in these contexts is profound.
