OpenAI has approximately hundreds of millions of weekly users, with a current valuation of $500 billion.
OpenAI launches a new group, PBC, which may go public soon with an IPO. This would be controlled by OpenAI (a nonprofit) for board and other decisions through its 26% stake in the company.
OpenAI would utilize Microsoft’s Cloud computing resources without restriction unless AGI is reached. Microsoft can use the IP of the former.
OpenAI can develop other products in this time until the constraints mentioned below are broken.
OpenAI has other aims that it will pursue independently of Microsoft, some of which align with Oracle Cloud Services.
Profit sharing with Microsoft is now 20%.
Microsoft and OpenAI have been in discussions since 2019 and have been in a solid partnership for the past three years, during which Microsoft has previously funded the latter.
Microsoft is set to acquire a 27% stake, or $135 billion, in the AI firm.
Following this news, Microsoft’s shares have now reached a $4 trillion valuation.
