Age of a Robot, Resume of a Robot-to Drones

Note: These are authors own view, and is not intended to go against any manufacturer. It is just to put light on some issues and some solutions that need to be resolved for safety of use of drones, robots and so on

— You want to buy a robot? But what is the age of the Robot you want to buy?

— What do you mean by age of robot? Is out of a new box robot age is different than manufactured age of Robot?

Answer: The age of robot can be considered as the age of its AI-Algorithm plus the age of hardware. That means age of robot is the age of the time, first AI algorithm passed successfully as a robot. Say in 2020, was the first time robot was able to walk on its own, we can refer this as age of Robot i.e. when AI algorithm running in skills of robot were tested.

— But new robots are sold form packet these days?

Answer: Well new robots use AI algorithm which may be 5 year old, so age of AI-Algorithm in the robot is aged as 5 years even though its just tested well and packed in a new cover. It may be made just few months back.

— -So is it safe to use a new robot 5 month in warehouse with a 5 year AI algorithm in it

Answer: Well only a manufacturer can answer about safety of the new robot, not me, I am just explaining the age of AI algorithm that is used in a robot determine the maturity and age is the robot so bought.

— What about the fact that the AI-robot started walking before starting to pick boxes in hands.

Answer: Well one learns to do addition before one learns to do algebra. So it can be considered as a resume of a robot. The robot resume, will have AI algorithms acquired by the robot, in which years, say learned to walk in year 2022, learned to run in year 2023, learned to pick bags and hold coffee tray in year 2024, these determine the age of robot, or age of drone and so on. All these data makes for a resume of a robot.

And note when these information is added to a new hardware of robot, the age and resume of new hardware of robot changes. But it needs to be tested of what all is needed and still had to give exams of passing the tests for all these skills in robot’s resume.

— What about a new patch to AI Robot?

Well that changes the education degree of Robot, as a distance leaning course. Rest ask manufactures how they would test the patch, calling it back to industry or some instructions.

— What about age of drone

Similar analogy holds for drone’s age, drone’s resume, drones’ skills and drone’s tests.
