It takes time to make an invention, then it takes time to reduce its costs, just like with super expensive supercomputers, computationally efficient laptops with not so similar powers came in as people wanted that too. Now, people want cheaper intelligence, so here would be. Just as after super computers, and personal computers reached your house doors, so same way DeekSeek may lead affordable intelligence at doorstep of all. But the inception of the intelligence were in big hands such as OpenAI to mention a few. OpenAI was costly but the reasons are clear from above analogy.

So are those era supercomputer still popular?
No as per internet today, it doesn’t compare to the processing power of latest smart tech.

— See the next set of networking devices, see the first modem, huge and bulky
— See the boom and slump in times, the first huge TV antennas? Remember the antennas, huge, coslty and providing less services as of todays.
— See the first TV, washing machine, first car…did the first cars had intelligent gears? And what was the prize of first cars? Now see the first AGI attempt by OpenAI that changed the world.
OpenAI ask money as it has to spend so much money, now there is a hope in humanity that things can become cheaper. Then we will look at these cost we bear as the below mentioned vintage technology.
Its all a part of the journey towards development and one must absorb the truth, that till now development moved in right direction.

— Well it is to illustrate when you make a new things to become common to public it takes time. Just like after super computers, more efficient computers came to every house. This is just an analogy to explain that in tech this is the way things change.
