Implementing tariffs can strengthen the local market while still providing access to Chinese products with tariffs. The benefit is that these tariffs can be invested in local businesses, offering us quality locally manufactured products. And the tariffs you pay (in case you import) are sure to be a short-term cost that exists in the long run. The long-term goal is to produce competitive products locally in each country, allowing for imports that incur tariffs and offering world-class products within your own countries. Yes, if a country can’t produce honey, they should import honey tariff-free.
