Dormant AI Police Robots: Modern AI Policing, Patrolling and Guarding. Pros and Cons.

#future #robotics #sci-fi #science-fiction #futurist #ai

Dormant Robot is a robot that is just seeing and hearing and is stagnant, till the AI in the robot reports a threat, when it raises an alarm to the administration.

This can have positive effects, as well as negative concerns about it.

They can save lives in extreme conditions such as avalanches or cloud bursts.

This article does not say that we must have robotic policing.

But there are occasions where human policing is impossible. One such example is snow-filled regions where guarding is needed near, say, a critical point where raw materials can be stolen, and it is not possible to police humans there due to dangerously low temperatures. Another example is patrol outside a penguin family.

If untrained, these robots can harm humans.

If trained well, they can secure things by being remotely operated by human policemen.

Each hand and legs of robots can be operated by humans, just like in robotic surgeries where doctors can remotely operate a robot with 4 arms to operate a patient.

One positive effect is limited number of police men can look at welfare of big communities.

These robots can be operated remotely using AR-VR glasses.

The human patrolling team can view their robotic image in glasses and operate on it.

Each robot should be in direct connection to a real human guardman/policeman/military man.

A human owner can see the robots’ surroundings, their interactions, and the issues around them to make decisions.

These can be put round as dormant robots in critical areas.

They can scan night-vision cameras at night and use computer vision to determine whether a crime-like situation is developing in a corner of a street.

Then they can contact the police/military to take action. The police get virtually into the body, of the robot at night, just like in robotics surgeries, and run towards the crime scene. This is called a dormant robot in action. The robot is operated by a policeman/guardman until police arrive.

If this technology falls into the wrong hands, it can cause damage to humans in the area, so proper handling is a must. It must be put in the right hands, and careful, sensible use is a must.

This policing technology has both pros and cons. Those who operate these robots remotely must be responsible guards.
