Here, in the link below, we see humanoid robots being made to do household tasks under human supervision. Human supervision is a big term; it is indeed run step by step by humans. Each finger moment of each foot step is being guided by human trainers, as we can call them.
This is meant to train robots, but what if robots take more time to learn or never learn like humans?
We can have remote controlled robots, this can be essentially used in
— Dangerous jobs, such as mining, where humans should not go.
— Astronauts’ work can be done with robotics.
— We can do remote work in this manner.
— Other tasks not meant for humans can be accomplished in this way.
This means a new profession is on the rise, the profession is one of the following:
— Either to train robots, if they can learn.
— Or to make robots do things via remote control.
Remote-controlled robots are not new in research. I have written many articles about medical bots that are remotely controlled by human doctors, with utter accuracy.
— If robots learn well and good.
Otherwise, humans can run robots virtually to do jobs that can be done better with virtual robot control, examples of such jobs are as follows:
— Work from home. Not in the mood to go to the office today, send your robot there and work from home.
— Space Exploration
— Climate calamities- saving people and properties from fires, floods, and storms.
— Environment cleaning
— Garbage collection
— Remote presentations for business or job
— House cleaning
— River and Sea bed harvesting and maintenance
— Road cleaning
— Traffic jams
— Remote security with virtual control
— Crime detection at night, with night vision cameras
— Cooking for kids while you are not at home?
— Technical jobs in the Arctic and Antarctic
— Other jobs in extreme climates, such as mountain tops
— Remote surgeries are common now! For precision, not because they can’t do it but because they can do it much more better with robots! This contrasts with most of the jobs I have mentioned, which are for convenience.
— Rare metals segregation
— Searching for cues in police investigations.
So, all the way to a new profession, “Remotely controlling robots to do non-human friendly works”, who all want to do it? Doctors are already doing it, for some reason, more than convenience!
