Are you a CRM company? Full automation of CRM!

Are you a CRM company?

Why be left behind in the AI Race? As with Claudeforce — Salesforce and Anthropic partner.

Which AI startup is your CRM company tying up with?

Claude’s intelligence in Salesforce can make CRM more human-like: no more feeding data in the pre-AI era; the aim should be to talk to and access Salesforce intelligently, gain insight into the data, assess tasks, and make efficient predictions. This is possible by securely sharing CRM data, workflows, business logic, and actions with AI.

So are you a CRM company? Salesforce is your competitor; so now Anthropic is too. Where do you turn for AI, then?

There are two essential points to keep in mind:

Customer data, customer interactions, and feedback are key and must be maintained. While business logic and workflows, algorithms, and management are what makes a CRM company stand out. This means both must be secure before you embed AI. One instance of breaking out of the box can mean losing valuable customers or exposing business secrets.

So if you are a CRM company, you need AI to guide your next steps.

AI can help you access data and make meaningful predictions securely.

Claude and Salesforce have worked together before this new deal, last year as well. Claude’s intelligence in Salesforce can make CRM more human-like: no more feeding data in the pre-AI era; the aim should be to talk to and access Salesforce intelligently, gain insight into the data, assess tasks, and make efficient predictions. This is possible by securely sharing CRM data, workflows, business logic, and actions with AI, all within the company’s governance. Trusted customers’ data collected over years can be reviewed without compromising privacy. So, this is not the automation that is being talked here in this article.

Daily reminders of actions to take, deal reviews, formalizing plans, new potential leads, and mail or call follow-ups, as well as setting your permissions and rules for internal guidelines. All of this can be done with AI, given that customer data needs to be protected. But what if you need to automate sales jobs for an even smoother customer experience? Say a sales representative leaves the job to join another company. Who will handle his accounts? AI? Can we do it now? No, it takes transition time to do it now. What if this can be smooth till another salesman takes his place? AI can do it until then, using the salesman’s decision pipelines with pseudonyms for customers’ credentials he handled so customer data isn’t leaked. Once learned, we have an autobot.

But what if your data and past decisions are used to predict actions for a new customer? This can make an automated CRM. That makes human engagement in the flow minimal. That is not the case in the current deals being made in CRM and AI companies.

It works by analyzing a customer’s or salesperson’s pipeline in isolation and making decisions based on it, so other customers’ data remains secure. Here comes the salesperson’s data. How does a salesperson perform when all their previous decisions are laid out on the table? Learning a salesperson’s mind is not easy, but if customers keep data in-house and want to automate salesperson intelligence, CRM tools can gain full autonomy. At the same time, AI must be governed to address the legal aspects of CRM companies. This can affect CRM professionals’ jobs and boost sales executives’ performance by letting them skip monotonous, repetitive work on new leads and focus on retaining existing customers. This can even generate more leads.

Full automation can take effect when some customers agree to let their data be used to train an AI. The company that can do so can automate CRM as an intelligent salesperson and CRM executive.

Governance is important to guardrail the CRM AI on what not to do; for example, if some other customer data is accessed, you need not add it to the output, and if possible, forget it, or if required for automation. Change names to pseudonyms for learning purposes. However, this is an “if”; it is not done by default. This depends on whether customers want salespeople’s work automated. Do we need to automate sales processes? This is the first question. Current deals with AI companies are moving toward automation, but not full automation. This can help overburdened sales executives but can’t replace human salespeople.
