Greetings everyone,
Here are this week’s key takeaways.
— OpenAI called back the rollout of the GPT-6.1 Astra system, citing that it didn’t meet the company’s standards for release.
— OpenAI long-term personal agent architecture rumored as Aeon or “O”. But this was a rumor and it was not released. It’s a backbone. An always-on agent with file and system access can pose security threats.
— OpenAI dots. An AI that works 24/7, summarizes and prioritizes your tasks, emails, agendas, calendars, and reminders. Powered by GPT-7 Astra. It talks to you; it keeps you updated on all things you need to know, right from the morning alarm. It’s always “On”. Altman describes it as the best product they have made.
— Tesla Optimus V3 is lined up for production. Several dozen Optimus per day are built.
— Morally binding agreement signed with the USA government and top tech giants.
—Ultrafast by OpenAI is the same OpenAI model running on a faster inference stack for Pro 500 and above users.
— Gemini 4 Argon by Google is out, but only for limited customers for fault analysis, sandboxing, trials, and security issues. It appears to be ahead of the top models from OpenAI and Anthropic. It is quite contradictory that they just signed a morally binding agreement and, soon after, released this model. Didn’t they want some time to analyze what they signed in that morally binding agreement, even though the model is open in a limited edition? No time to grasp the agreement the tech giants signed? You have to appoint a team to analyze it, and the board needs to be called in for any security or other hazards. Just hours after the agreement is signed, we release a model. Or maybe they’re ready with the teams and security protocols? Yes, its performance is good, but what about the agreement?

— Compute in space. With an energy crisis here on Earth, Google’s Project Suncatcher will use up to 8x more solar energy than ground panels. Google partner Planet Labs has sent a refrigerator-sized satellite to launch via SpaceX. Let’s see how it goes!
— Anthropic IPO around mid-November.
